Country Manager

We are looking for a Engineering Manager for one of our clients whose main core business is about e-comerse
Manage general operations of the tech hub
- Be a central part of the near-shore strategy – build, develop and align strategic goals with the CTO and other key stakeholders
- Ensure all operations of the office, employees and general business undertakings are managed to a high standard and appropriately for Mexico
- Lead strategic planning to develop priority areas and work plans. Ensure that the team delivers on its ambitious strategy and be transparent in communication where activities are not on track
- Own the office set up for phase 1 and phase 2
Engineering Strategy and Outcomes
- Lead the team to ensure targets are being met
- Clearly communicate with key stakeholders on key changes and updates
- Adhere to company standards for excellence and quality
- Provide guidance and feedback to help others strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas
Leadership & Team Engagement
- Assist in local talent scouting and end to end recruitment of high quality talent – Engineers, Recruiters, HR and more operational roles in the future.
- Accountable for driving alignment with ATG culture and high levels of employee engagement for the Mexico teams in a hybrid way of office working.
- Lead the relationship between Mexico teams and ATG teams in the US to create synergy and alignment.
- Align to and drive the ATG culture and values across the office.
- Communicate as a representative of the ATG Leadership team both internally and externally
- Embrace and drive ATG’s diversity initiatives and strategy to attract, hire, retain and maintain a diverse workplace.

- Motivation and resilience to operate in a decentralized environment, independent from ATG in the US and with high levels of ambiguity at times
- Bi-lingual in Spanish and English. Must have excellent English language skills

- Comfortable & confident with making hard people decisions when required
What you need for success:
- A commercially led general manager with 10+ years of experience of building, leading and mentoring teams within engineering, B2B SaaS, digital (two sided) marketplace or transactional e-commerce/trading environments. Some exposure to the online auctions markets would be highly advantageous.
- A natural leader of people, a strong team player with a collaborative and hands-on style. Proven ability to build, motivate and inspire a high-performing team, ensuring that top quality talent is recruited and maintained.
- Experience with driving and aligning on building culture.
- Leading from the front, they will drive the productivity of the team in Mexico, inspiring an atmosphere of dynamism and high performance.
- Ability to create a positive and supportive environment for the team, ensuring that a sense of fun prevails along with the determination to continually learn and improve.
- Leadership presence and gravitas than can inspire people and attract followership
- Strong data orientation and tracking of metrics to understand root causes and insights
